The following will inevitably date me but every time I hear someone mention WIP or WIPs, I get the visual image in my mind of Devo along with the auditory memory of the group singing “Whip It.”
Free Your Fade
This final project, Free Your Fade Shawl, for Camp Loopy is slow and steady. I started to get a little nervous that my yarn for color A (Fibernymph Bounce in “Ode to Van Gogh”) was going to be a lost yarn chicken race. I decided to lower my stress level by switching to an unexpected color B, which would make my original two-color shawl, three, but keeping the original B as color C. Makes total sense, right?
Color B is now some leftover yarn that I had from last summer’s Camp Loopy, Western Sky Knits, Aspen Sock in “Academy.” That leaves color C as Fresh from the Cauldron Freyr Sock in “Red Reddington.” I’m closing in on eyelet #11, but looking forward to the switch to the final fade and then the picot edge.
His and Her Hermione’s
It has been a very long time since I picked up any sock knitting. The His and Her Hermione Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder are very sad and languishing in project bags, just waiting for camp to end. His Hermione is in Socks that Rock Mediumweight in “Free Range Chicken” and Her Hermione is in Manos Alegira in Pindo that I purchased last year at Knitty City in New York, New York. Soon…maybe after Labor Day and knit simultaneously with What’s Your Fade.
