Warm in Florida again for Purloined Monday

Once again it’s Monday and you know what that means…purloining a little Monday Q&A courtesy of Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin. Here goes:

*Have you asked your kids to do something you wouldn’t do?

This one stumped me. The answer is more of things I did as a youngster that The Prophet doesn’t like to do or didn’t want to do…like read a book for fun or have a party at the house when we weren’t home.

*Do you understand: Football, Bridge, or Cricket?

I understand Football and we even have a Family Fantasy Football League this year. Unfortunately my drafted team has been plagued like many others…lots of top players succumbing to injury. Not a clue about bridge or cricket. Although my sister-in-law and brother-in-law both play, and I’m sure my British grandfather knew all about cricket but never got me hooked or educated.

*Have you talked to your family about Organ Donation?

We have never had the discussion as in the Jewish faith we are not supposed to be organ donors after we die.

*Did you knit something that you thought you might not be able to wear this year? (my original interpretation of the question)

I actually only knit socks and shawls for myself this year and have worn everything…so the answer is no.

*Did you knit something that you thought you might not be able to knit this year?

I grabbed a Craftsy class by Nancy Merchant, as my back-up, just in case I couldn’t figure out brioche. I was able to knit a simple brioche kitty hat. I also got the hang of multiple color brioche, but if I got distracted I would make mistakes.

*iPhone or Samsung?

iPhone for sure…though I have to confess I am very intrigued by Google’s Pixel. A friend of mine who is a photographer for the local newspaper has a Pixel and he gets great pictures with his phone…lots of bells and whistles that he doesn’t have on any of his work cameras.

*Do you put bows or trinkets on your packages?

Rarely do I put anything on my gifts or packages because I can’t wrap. Every gift item goes into a gift bag.

*Do your pets get a Holiday treat?

Our dogs, Brody and Rupert, gets special bones on their birthdays…no holiday treats. Although our first dog’s name was Latka.

*Do you use headphones, earbuds or nothing when you watch something on your phone, computer or tablet?

I use Bluetooth earbuds only when I’m using my iPad to stream Peloton classes so I don’t disturb my hubby when I spin at 5 a.m.

*If you could take a craft/knit/crochet class in January for free, what would it be?

I would love to take a brioche class (to help with corrections and fixing mistakes) or a class where I could learn how to get over my fear of steeking. But still would really like to learn once and for all how to sew on a sewing machine.

*Have you ever made a traveling knit? (you knit part and send it on?)

More than 10 years ago, I used to participate in an annual swap, Hurricane Sock Swap. You’d be paired up with someone for the swap…you’d knit one sock and then have to send that sock to someone for completion and you would get another sock. My best sock swap buddy was Tonni in Alabama who was so utterly generous…not only did I receive handmade soaps but extra drawstring project bags. Everything in what I received from that swap is in today’s post pic.
