Everyday is a Filled to the Brim News Day

Is it just me but for the last three months or so, every day is packed to the gills with startling news, and most of the time, it is all breaking news. As I shared before on Mondays through Fridays I tune in with “The Daily” podcast but up first is “Up First” from NPR. My commute is just the right length to listen to both in their entirety. I feel like I can then start the day. News is my beverage of choice in the morning instead of coffee. Good old fashioned news you can use. Getting Used Q & A

Once again on this fine Monday, I am purloining a little Monday Q&A from Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin. Here goes:

*Can you knit something by “heart?”

Once I get into the rhythm of a pattern, it becomes a little bit by heart. But I really still double check the pattern because sometimes my mind wanders and before I know it, I’m on a different stitch and frogging it back. Continue reading “Getting Used Q & A”

Time Once Again for Some Purloining

Once again on this fine Monday, I am purloining a little Monday Q&A from Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin. Here goes:

*Do you prefer an analog or digital clock?

I prefer a digital clock and the reason is a bit unusual. I used to wear very, very thick glasses (thicker than coke bottles) and then of course, graduated to contact lenses. Hard to believe but it is now 18 years ago since I had Lasik done. The morning after the procedure when I woke up and could look across the entire bedroom and see—really see—the clock display on the cable box was like a miracle. I felt like I had bionic eyes! Purloined Monday Q&A

Once again on this fine Monday, I am purloining a little Monday Q&A from Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin. Here goes:

*Do you ‘trust’ superwash wool?

So, confession here, although I have purchased quite a bit of superwash yarn, I have never just thrown any hand knit in the washer, and then low temp or cool in the dryer. I’ve only still washed by hand with SOAK. Though whenever I finish The Prophet’s Flame Hot Rod Hat,and  he washes it…that will definitely be a test. Continue reading “Purloined Monday Q&A”

Mondays are for Purloining

Once again on this fine Monday, I am purloining a little Monday Q&A from Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin. Here goes:

* When are you most hungry: Morning, noon or night?

For me, it definitely depends on whether the day in question is during the work week or on the weekend. During the week, I typically don’t eat until around noon and it is a portion-controlled container of overnight oatmeal. Over the weekend, I am famished as soon as I wake up. Go figure! Answers to Burning Questions

Purloining a little Monday Q&A from Kathy B at Compassionknit in Wisconsin.

* Have you seen someone you know personally on television?

Starting my career in media relations and PR, I got to know many of the anchors and reporters at the various stations in Tampa. In addition, I brought many spokespeople in for news segments. In fact, one time we did a segment on the local CBS affiliate’s very early morning show about a Kids and Yoga Class being offered at the wellness center and my son, The Prophet, was one of the kids. helping to demonstrate different moves. I also met quite a number of celebrities over the years, Tim McGraw, Larry King, Anita Diamant, Anna Quindlen, Dr. Oz, (forgot all about Dr. Oz until I just watched Jeopardy and he was guest announcing a category) to name a few. But I actually met Hulk Hogan at a Ballys Gym in Clearwater when I first moved to Florida. And he is truly larger than life. Continue reading “Answers to Burning Questions”
