WIP IT Wednesday

Unfortunately, knitting is not moving along as quickly as I had hoped. Reason: I can’t knit and watch “Stranger Things Season 2” at the same time. Weird. Nevertheless, I did manage to knit a couple of leg rounds for sock #1 of The Prophet’s Zig Zagular socksContinue reading “WIP IT Wednesday”

Surviving WIP It Wednesday

Not only are we big “Designated Survivor” fans in this household, but we’ve been watching “Survivor” since its inception in 2000. Hence a little delayed in blogging today as I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the TV screen and what was transpiring for the finale for the 35th season titled “Heroes, Healers and Hustlers.” I actually did not knit at all as I have during previous episodes of both shows with ‘survivor’ in their names. Birthday Celebration with Socks

Well not totally with socks. For hubby’s birthday, he said to choose a location (usually in our family the birthday boy or girl decides)…mainly because as my being gluten-free places sanctions on many local eateries. Decision was made to finally go ahead and try Sacred Pepper in Carrollwood.  Continue reading “Birthday Celebration with Socks”

Blue is the Color of My…

Today was devoted to finishing up all the bath mitts for holiday gifts. It helps to knit with large needles (#9 HiYaHiYa in this case) when my rheumatoid flares up, which it has since Thursday night. It usually strikes when the weather changes and for us in Tampa, cold came in (and heat’s on in the house…believe it or not) to roost and hasn’t left yet. The discomfort feels like the all-over ache you get when you have the flu. I forget sometimes about the fatigue that sets in, to the point last night that I went to sleep at 7:45 p.m. for the night. WIPs and Chains (Well Really a FO)

On Sunday afternoon for  passenger knitting time, I decided to get cooking on the holiday bath mitts. Cast on the first bath mitt with the “Psychedelic” Lily Sugar N Cream cotton. As per my usual bad habit, I did not work up a gauge swatch and went for knitting broke. Continue reading “WIPs and Chains (Well Really a FO)”

Finito Friday

Finally! A finished knitted object and it only took the ride to and from Sarasota to A Good Yarn to make it happen. It’s The Prophet’s second Lightning Flame Hot Rod hat. Unfortunately, the first one (after of course saying too many times to count not to wash it in the washing machine and dry in the dryer) went through the washer and dryer and shrunk and felted. So knitted version 2 with superwash…combo of Cascade 220 Superwash and Cascade Pacific. Continue reading “Finito Friday”

Zig Zaggin’ to the Finish in a Flame Hot Rod

It’s WHIP IT Wednesday time…and a real quick, get in and get out post. I’m exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open.

Working on two future gifts for the Prophet: Flame Hot Rod Hat to replace his last cap (long story more when the hat is finished) and the other, Zig Zagular socks by Susie White. Not sure which will be a Hanukkah gift and the other would be the Prophet’s birthday.
