Since I did finally finish my first pair for Box O Sox 2018, my size 0 HiYa HiYa circular was open for a new pair of socks to be cast on. As I planned, I started the Hugs and Chocolate Kisses socks with Dream in Color Smooshy in “Spicy Smooches.”
I do enjoy a twisted rib for cuffs on socks…a little out of the ordinary. I ended up with one and a half repeats of the rib. And now on to the first six rows of the X and O Lace Pattern.
Even though I’m still not done with the Zigzagular Socks for The Prophet’s birthday (he’s okay with the pair being late), I cast on for pair #1 of Box O Socks on January 1. I chose the pattern Crusoe, a Knitty pattern from 2005, so I can finally start knitting with skeins of Koigu that I purchased from Cast On Cottage in Georgia the same year. A short and quick WIP It Wednesday as I truly only made a little bit of progress on the second sock of my male Hermione Every Day sock. Only still have just my i-cord cast-on done for Clue 1 of What the Fade Shawl. Lots of distractions with the just-in-case preparation for Hurricane Irma. Lines at the gas stations are already backed up and most stores are out of water. Thankfully we are stocked up with water, batteries and dry good food items.
For the past 5 years, I have gone away to camp for the summer…well not exactly a literal camp but more like a virtual camp, which was courtesy of The Loopy Ewe. For those who are not in the know, every summer from June through August, there’s an overarching theme for camp. This summer’s camp, known fondly as Camp Loopy, happened to be all about Dinosaurs, and for each month, there is a suggested direction for the dedicated project.
